about

This is the first significant recording from James Junius. The young singer-songwriter from Utah, who has recently moved to Austin, Texas, to pursue his career with the support of the longtime executive producer of Austin City Limits, Terry Lickona. They are recording an EP of seven songs together later this month. “This is the first time in my four-decades with ACL that I have taken a direct, personal interest in helping a new artist start his career,” Lickona said, “but James Junius has a unique and distinctive talent that inspires me to get involved.”

Junius poses the question, “Do we stand idly by and let this sort of hateful reality TV show behavior threaten to dominate American culture, or do we look around us, at even those we do not understand or agree with, and try to, rather than building walls, build them up instead?”

“Make America Kind Again” reminds us that the greatness that we strive for collectively is within each and every one of us.

lyrics

Make America Kind Again:

I see so many bleeding suffering from wounds
Hatred of their neighbor fearing that they're doomed
Scared of all the strangers they feel like the past
Our neighborhoods keep chaning will we be the last

The man on the Tv, he says he’ll fix it all
Keep out all those immigrants let's build a wall.
Sure he's offensive but he knows my state of things
I'm so voiceless and hungry in the land where freedom rings

I don't care who it hurts as long as I'm ok
My fear is overriding it wont let me say.

Make America Kind again
Make America Kind again
Make America Kind again
Cause in this crazy world we can always be a friend

He makes fun of all the women Our mothers and our wives
Those who have a different god He seeks to divide.
Now I was always told Never throw your fist
No matter how scared you are we’re all just one in this

We’re all just human and want the same things
I could use a needle full of the American Dream
I have to believe that there's a loving way
To make this country better let's hear you say

Make America Kind again
Make America Kind again
Make America Kind again
Cause in this crazy world we can always be a friend
